Europe Tour 1

Alps Tour

Start in Zurich and end in Salzburg, you have a 9 day tour package taking you through the roof of Europe — Alps. Between Switzerland and Austria, historic sites and breathtaking mountains are never far away.

This is the Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive Zürich

A picturesque Swiss city of Zürich, home to exquisite architecture and a charming Old Town.

Day 2: Zürich, Brienz

The morning is the best time for you to explore Zürich at your leisure. You might like to enjoy a stroll by beautiful Lake Zürich or head to the main street for a spot of shopping. Alternatively, check out one of the city’s many museums.

Day 3: Jungfrau Railway

Today’s adventure begins as you leave Interlaken and travel through the foothills of the Alps to Lauterbrunnen. Venture through the lush scenery of Switzerland, growing more and more beautiful with every turn. Your final destination is the Jungfraujoch, Europe’s highest railway station. Enjoy free time at the summit station and perhaps visit its Ice Palace. Once you’ve explored as much as you like, it’s time to head back to Brienz.

Day 4: Lucerne

Travel to Lucerne this morning, nestled in the foothills of the Swiss Alps on the shores of spectacular Lake Lucerne. The city offers breathtaking views of Mt Pilatus, Mt Rigi and the towering peaks of the Alps. During free time, you might like to visit the city’s atmospheric Old Town. Be sure not to miss Lucerne’s most celebrated landmark – the Chapel Bridge. Built in the 14th century, this wooden bridge once served as protection against outside attacks on the city. Today, a series of paintings from the 17th century are hung on the walls inside, and tell the tale of Lucerne’s history.

Day 5: Lucerne

Enjoy a guided tour of Lucerne this morning and gain a deeper understanding of this beautiful lakeside city. You might see the Old and New towns, and some other sites that were touched on yesterday during your free time. Look forward to wandering the cobblestone streets with your guide. The rest of the afternoon is then yours to spend exploring at leisure. You might like to sample some local specialities in a traditional Swiss tavern or pick up some souvenirs. Later, travel by cable car back to your hotel in time for dinner.

Day 6: Glacier Express, Klosters

Bid farewell to Lucerne this morning and travel aboard the Gotthard Pass Line to Andermatt for your Insider Experience rail journey.

Day 7: Klosters

Today is yours to spend at leisure, exploring Klosters as you wish. The pretty alpine resort village has an abundance of snow-clad mountains, making for a fairytale backdrop. It has also been a popular holiday spot among celebrities and royals alike since the 1950s – if you keep a close eye out, you might just spot a famous face or two.

Day 8: Klosters, Salzburg

Leave Switzerland behind this morning and travel by train to Austria. Villages and towns pass by your rail car as you travel in peace. Arrive in Salzburg, a city known as the birthplace of Mozart, and the setting for the classic film, ‘The Sound of Music’. Embark on a sightseeing tour with a local guide to discover the city’s greatest highlights.

Day 9: Depart Salzburg

Your journey comes to an end today.
